N’Golo Kante is now a surprise target for Manchester United with latest reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked with the Frenchman ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
UK outlet Daily Star reports that United are monitoring the Frenchman’s status at Stamford Bridge as the Blues have placed €60million price-tag to raise funds for their next target Declan Rice.
It was gathered that United boss Solskjaer is impressed with Kante and is ready to bring the defensive midfielder to the club should Chelsea be willing to let go.

Italian giants Inter Milan are also chasing the 2018 World Cup winner, but they will have to hope on Chelsea allowing him a move to Italy rather than Old Trafford.
Also, Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to complete his switch to Serie A giants AC Milan with Frank Lampard desperate to offload the 26-year-old ahead of the coming Premier League season.
Bakayoko was in form two seasons ago during his loan spell with the San Siro side and also made 23 impressive appearances for Ligue 1 side Monaco last season.
Italian outlet Gianluca Dimarzio are however reporting that AC Milan are in the last stages of completing a deal for the midfielder.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is need of a summer clear out and Bakayoko is among those unwanted.
And Lampard has been warned he risks being axed as Chelsea manager if the club fails to challenge for titles next season after the club's summer spending spree.
The Blues have thus far spent a staggering £200million on four major signings including Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell.
The addition of veteran defender Thiago Silva is also expected to bolster Chelsea's defence following the west London side's dreadful defensive record last summer.
The signings are expected to provide Lampard with a new-look Chelsea side that can rival Liverpool and Man City for the Premier League title.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea are set to be without three key players in their Premier League season opener against Brighton on Monday, September 14.
New signings Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell have already been confirmed to be out of the fixture while Reece James is also a doubt for the clash.
Ziyech suffered an ankle injury during their friendly game against the same side at the Amex Stadium last weekend.
