Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar reportedly played a lead role in Thiago Silva's move to Premier League club Chelsea.

Silva sealed a summer switch to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer from PSG in August to form part of an array of players Frank Lampard has added to his ranks.

It is believed the veteran defender had a number of offers including PSG who were keen to extend his stay.

However, Metro UK citing The Telegraph reports the 35-year-old was immediately attracted by the prospect of signing for the Blues.
