Cristiano Ronaldo was on Saturday night, September 5, ordered to put on his face mask while watching his country facing Croatia in a UEFA Nations League encounter.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner had a toe infection which ruled him out of the match, but despite not being in the squad, Cristiano Ronaldo was still present in the stands.
And while the match was ongoing, an health official noticed that Cristiano Ronaldo was not using a face mask and she walked to meet him.
After a moment of hesitancy, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star obliged by putting on the face mask provided.
Cristiano Ronaldo's teammates were however brilliant in the encounter as they won 4-1 against Croatia in a nice game.
Joao Cancelo scored the first goal in the 41st minute after getting a superb pass from Bernardo Silva as the first half ended with Portugal leading 1-0.
Croatia came out with some nice display in the second half looking for an equalizer, but Portugal goalkeeper Anthony Lopes was fantastic.
Diogo Jota netted the second goal for Portugal in the 58th minute before Joao Felix netted the third goal in the 70th minute.
Andre Silva scored the fourth goal for Portugal in the 90th minute, but Croatia pulled one back at the death through Bruno Petkovic.
Meanwhile, Cristano Ronaldo is also expected to miss Portugal's next game against Sweden which will be played on Tuesday, September 8.
