The general overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, is grateful to God for the reduction in the number of coronavirus cases.
According to him, the re-opening of churches played a part in the decrease of COVID-19 infections across Nigeria.
The man of God disclosed this on Saturday, September 5, during the church’s Covenant Hour of Prayer, PM News reports.
Using Lagos and Ogun states as case study for his assertion, he said COVID-19 had continued to decrease after churches were re-opened.
“I’ve never seen where people think like that. The Church is ordained a solution centre for the world. This data is a clear evidence that the Church has the solution; when we pray, God hears.
“Thank God for the prayers we pray in the house; there is a prayer we pray in the Temple where the fire comes from Heaven and consumes the sacrifice. That’s why we are here. Jesus is Lord,” he said.
The cleric prophesied that zero cases will be recorded from now. "From now, they will start recording zero, zero, zero cases of coronavirus,” he declared.
Churches in Lagos were re-opened on August 9, while Ogun state government lifted the ban on churches on August 16.
Check out Oyedepo’s analysis below:
In reaction to the reopening of churches in both states, the cleric had he believes the decision of both state governments signalled the defeat of the devil.
Meanwhile, during a service in Canaanland in Ogun state on Sunday, August 16, Oyedepo expressed surprise that churches in the northern part of Nigeria operate on weekdays except in Lagos.
He, therefore, urged the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to review his decision and do the needful.
Oyedepo is one man of God who doesn't hold back when sharing the word as he speaks his mind. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, he has been against the government's decision to close churches.
The preacher said he would lay his hands and breathe into any COVID-19 patient brought to him for prayer. He said he would not wear gloves to do so but would lay his bare hands on the patient to receive healing.
