- Georginio Wijnaldum has been linked with a big move to join Barcelona
- Liverpool have however named their price for the 29-year-old Dutch superstar
- Barcelona are also interested in the signing of ex-Manchester United star Depay
Premier League giants Liverpool have reportedly demanded the sum of £15 million from Spanish side Barcelona for the signing of Dutch forward Georginio Wijnaldum.
Georginio Wijnaldum has been superb at Liverpool for the past four years and his current contract at Anfield remains just a year.
New Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman is trying to rebuild the team this summer and he is already targeting some players he wants to lure to the Nou Camp.
But cash-strapped Barcelona were hoping to land the 29-year-old midfielder for around £10 million.
That doesn't match Liverpool's valuation of a player who cost them £23 million when he arrived from Newcastle in the year 2016.
According to the report on UK Mirror, Liverpool on the other hand are tracking Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara with the hopes of landing him this summer.
Jurgen Klopp and his wards were not superb last season in the Champions League losing against Atletico Madrid, but they ended up the term winning the Premier League title.
The Reds will want to retain their Premier League title in the coming season, but they will face competition from the likes of Manchester United, City and Arsenal.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Scottish professional football League side Celtic are reportedly considering going for the transfer of Nigerian and Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi who currently plays for Mainz in Germany.
Since Taiwo Awoniyi moved to Liverpool from Imperial Soccer Academy, the Nigerian star has not been able to play for the Premier League side due to a work permit.
He has been playing on loan elsewhere ever since then with Liverpool also renewing his contract at Anfield.
The superb performances of the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah is making Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp not to think about bringing another striker in.
Celtic on the other hand are hoping to sign the Nigeria forward if Odsonne Edouard leaves the club this summer.
