Barcelona vs Bayern Munich's Champions League quarter-final lash has emerged as what Nigeria went on Google's search engine the most in the month of August in Nigeria.

The match ended in an 8-2 thrashing as the Bundesliga giants were victorious over their Spanish counterparts on August 14, as the German side went on to win their sixth title.

In a match played at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon saw Bayern score four goals within the space of 31 minutes as they led Barca by 4-1.

And the Bavarians became the fastest a team has ever scored four goals in a Champions League knockout match. It was also the first time Barcelona had conceded more than five goals in a Champions League knockout game since 1976.

Another Google search that dominated the month of August was 'COVID-19 prevention' where 54,000 cases were recorded and over 1,00 deaths were confirmed.

The West African Examination Council's (WAEC) time table was on Google's search engine as students scrambled on the website to know when they will be writing their exams.

A number of papers clashed with Friday Jumu’ah prayers, leading to claims that it the time table was anti-Muslim.

The death of Ogun state gubernatorial candidate Buruji Kashamu was also on teh website as other football fixtures and Burna Boy's 'twice as tall' followed suit.

With the present economic condition 'how to make money online' was also among the trending topics as well as 'when is school returning' and “when is school resuming in nigeria” were part of the top search.

Baking also trended as 'how to make pancakes' and 'how to make a cake' among the most asked questions on the site.

'Who is the world best man' was an interesting feature among the most inquired questions for the monthmof August.

Google processes more than 40 000 search queries every second. This translates to more than a billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year, worldwide.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that German champions Bayern Munich on Friday night, August 14, qualified for the semifinal of the 2019/20 Champions League after beating Spanish side Barcelona 8-2.

It was a tough game for Barcelona and even their fans who never thought their players would concede such goals against Bayern Munich.
