Neymar alongside Paris Saint Germain stars Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes have all tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus, it was confirmed on Wednesday, September 2.

It was gathered that the Brazilian star and Paredes have been grooving on island Ibiza as the news have now thrown the club into chaos ahead of their first league game in eight days time.

The French champions were given extended rest after they reached the Champions League final in Lisbon.

Although the 2020/2021 Ligue 1 season returned on August 21, PSG will not taste action until their first away game at Lens on September 10.

The fixture is now threatened as players will be tested regularly in the coming days.

Also, English Premier League has also been hit with the pandemic with 14 mystery cases across different clubs as players continue to jet off on holiday.

The English topflight is scheduled to return for a new season on September 12, but latest updates across team camps during the pre-season revealed that there are 14 confirmed cases already.

UK outlet Telegraph claim reporting that 12 clubs have been hit by the infection and there are fears that the number could rise in the coming days as players are seen holidaying together.

Although the figures are reported unofficial, the Premier League body is expected to regularly announce latest figures when the season starts.

Clubs are said to be worried as players are seen partying together including Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli who was snapped with James Maddison and Jack Grealish in Ibiza.

Also, Chelsea’s Mason Mount was pictured together with long-time friend and Blues’ target Declan Rice on the Island of Mykonos in Greece including Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori. Read earlier reported that a number of Chelsea players have gone into quarantine amid fears they have tested positive for COVID-19.

At least four players will have to isolate for 14 days as per the British government guidelines after they jetted back from a brief holiday ahead of the new season.

The Blues squad underwent the routine tests last week after they returned to full training and reports from England indicate several results came positive.
