Barcelona chiefs have been attacked by angry supporters of the club after they saw how the Catalans used the image of Lionel Messi to promote the club's new shirt for next term.

Despite the serious uncertainty surrounding the future of Lionel Messi at Barcelona, the club released the advert of their new home kit for next season with Lionel standing in the front.

This is an indication that Barcelona chiefs are not ready to allow the Argentine to leave Camp Nou this summer even though he has handed them transfer request.

What Barcelona chiefs did appears to be a calculated move ahead of their important meeting with Lionel Messi's father Jorge who has landed in Spain.

Jorge traveled to Barcelona to have a serious meeting with the Catalans over the future of his son with reports that he even want the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to join Manchester City.

The advert made by Barcelona has now caused trouble as fans claimed on social media that the club should not have done what they did.

Fans claimed that Barcelona chiefs should have channeled their energy the more on how to convince Lionel Messi and his father rather than doing what will provoke the player.

Others branded the club as 'shameless' for trying to capitalize on the financial gain of still having Messi on their books.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Reading fan identified as David sensationally claimed that Barcelona star Lionel Messi won't last five minutes if the Argentine should move to the Premier League.
