Reading fan identified as David has sensationally claimed that Barcelona star Lionel Messi wouldn't last five minutes if the Argentine should move to the Premier League.

While speaking with talkSPORT, the Englishman explained that Messi would find English football difficult to cope with because of the physical nature of play in England.

For the past seven days, Messi's future at Barcelona has been the major discussion among football fans and pundits in the world.

Fans at the Nou Camp have been telling Barcelona chiefs that they must try their best to make sure that Messi does not leave this summer.

Messi has been linked with a move to Premier League side Manchester City with reports even claiming that the Argentine has agreed to personal terms with the Citizens.

David used the Champions League game against Liverpool last two seasons an an example to buttress his assertion about Messi who failed to score in Barcelona's 4-0 defeat.

He stated that Messi would find it difficult to face Premier League defenders if he should go to Manchester City.

Meanwhile, joining Manchester City will give Messi the chance to have a reunion with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad stadium.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Lionel Messi is now reportedly on the verge of being fined at Spanish side Barcelona following his refusal to undergo Covid-19 test and also missing training at the Nou Camp.
