- Odion Ighalo's current deal with Man United will expire in January 2021
- The Nigerian star joined the Red Devils on loan from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua
- Bruno Fernandes has now heaped praises on the former Watford striker, saying he is one of United's best legs
Manchester United winter signing Bruno Fernandes has rated Nigerian star Odion Ighalo as one of the best legs at Old Trafford at the moment.
The former Super Eagles striker joined the Red Devils along with the Portuguese international earlier this year.
While the midfielder signed a long-term deal with United, Ighalo's reign at Old Trafford will come to an end in January 2021.
The former Watford star scored five goals and assisted another one in 19 appearances across competitions for the club.
Both stars contributed to United's 19-match unbeaten run before Chelsea stopped them in the semifinal of their FA Cup clash in mid-July.
Meanwhile, the former Sporting Lisbon star was said to have lifted the mood of his team when he arrived about nine months back.
He also pushed them to finish third on the Premier League table - displacing the Blues and Leicester City in the latter end of the 2019-20 season.
Fernandes told Man United's official website that he was not alone in turning the club’s fortunes around last season, adding that Ighalo played his part also.
“We have players on the bench who can do very well,” Fernandes said while looking back on his first few months in England.
"And we have Odion [Ighalo] who can score, he can run, he’s a good sprinter.
“I think Odion is the guy with the fourth-most goals for United last season and he signed with me in January.”
Fernandes joined the Red Devils in a deal around €68 million from Sporting CP and scored eight goals with seven assists in an outstanding start to his Premier League reign.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Odion Ighalo has been nominated for the best striker award in the 2019/20 English FA Cup Arsenal after beating Chelsea in the final at Wembley.
The Nigerian footballer has been impressive since he joined Manchester United last year on loan from Chinese Super League giants Shanghai Shenhua.
United chiefs bought Odion Ighalo when Marcus Rashford got injured at Old Trafford and the Nigerian proved himself which also helped him get an extension.
