It was reported recently that Nigerian music producer, Michael Ajereh aka Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage, were invited by the DSS for questioning.
According to the report by Sahara Reporters, the music stars were questioned over their alleged political statements against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Tiwa Savage was known to be a part of a movement known as We Are Tired following the rise in sexual assault cases in the country mostly against women.
The singer reportedly used the movement to call on the government to do something about the increasing r*pe cases.
It was also said that the singer made social media posts calling on the government to live up to its people’s expectations and this earned her an invitation from DSS.
Music producer, Don Jazzy was reportedly invited alongside Tiwa Savage by the DSS about two weeks ago to answer questions. According to the report, they were warned to be careful of their social media posts.
According to Sahara Reporters, a member of Tiwa Savage’s team also confirmed the development and said that the Attention crooner would not relent in speaking for Nigerians regardless of the development.
A number of fans on social media are known to call on celebrities to lend their voice and speak against the state of things in the country and many have yielded the call. Others have, however, maintained that they were not politicians and it was not their job.
Following the report of the DSS invitation of Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage, many might have a rethink about speaking up for the masses.
Nigerians on social media are already sharing their opinion and many are not pleased.
