- Henrikh Mkhitaryan has left Arsenal for a move to Italian side Roma
- Arsenal decided to terminate his contract and he joined Roma on free transfer
- Mkhitaryan was among the Arsenal players who lost against Chelsea in Europa League final
Premier League side Arsenal have terminated the contract of Armenian football star Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the Gunners have also confirmed that he has joined Roma permanently.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan found it difficult to break into Arsenal first team after joining from Manchester United in January 2018 in which Alexis Sanchez moved to Old Trafford.
The thought of many Arsenal fans was that Henrikh Mkhitaryan would be a great addition at the Emirates stadium, but he was unable to get his rhythm.
Former Arsenal coach Unai Emery also ignored him in his first team in the Premier League and was only using him in the Europa League.
He helped Arsenal to reach the Europa League final last two seasons, but the Gunners suffered an embarrassing defeat against Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Arsenal appreciated Henrikh Mkhitaryan while confirming his exit on their website and also thanked him for his memories at the Emirates stadium.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for their campaign in the coming Premier League season where they will face Fulham in their first game.
The Gunners ended last term on a glorious note winning the English FA Cup which has given them the Europa League ticket.
But the Gunners' fans would want their players to finish among the top four in the coming season so that they can play in the Champions League.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League side Arsenal have completed the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Tim Akinola who was recently released by another English club Huddersfield.
Tim Akinola is so lucky to the level that Arsenal failed to give him a trial despite being a 19-year-old player as they signed him straight away.
According to the report on UK Mirror, Arsenal chiefs were impressed with the analysis of Tim Akinola's games so far which made them to sign him.
Akinola who is eligible to play for both Nigeria and England only got into the academy system with Mansfield aged 16 before moving to Lincoln City in 2018/19.
He was named on the bench by Danny Cowley in the Checkatrade Trophy and featured in the FA Youth Cup before a loan spell at Lincoln United in the eighth tier.
