Josh Maja continued from where he stopped last season as he was among the scorers in Bordeaux's 2-0 win over Angers.

The match played at the Stade Raymond saw Les Girondins kicked bounce back from their 0-0 matchday 1 draw with Nantes.

The 21-year-old put his side ahead in the 25th minute in a game that produced only a few chances in the opening exchanges.

A corner kick from Nicolas De Preville was headed by former Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny which fell kindly into the path of the Nigerian striker to tap in from close out.

Maja played 45 minutes in the game 25 minutes lesser than their season opener against Nantes despite recording seven shots on target.

Samuel Kalu played 13 minutes in the match after making a substitute appearance for South Korean star Jo Hwang in the 77th minute.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Josh Maja has become a summer transfer target for Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers, according to reports.

News coming in from French news media outlet French Football News tweeted that talks will be holding between the club and the Nigerian international.
