President Muhammadu Buhari has intervened in the friction often ensuing between the legislative and executive arms of the federal government.

The president did this by inaugurating a party consultative committee which will henceforth act as a middle body to mediate peace and bring about synergy between both arms of the government.

Applauding President Buhari's timely move, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha pointed out that the committee will foster smooth function and relationship of the legislature and the executive arm so that the Buhari-led administration can deliver on its promises.

Moreover, on his part, the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, after the inaugural ceremony inauguration, said actions of presidential appointees that tarnish the image of the country by abusing the legislature will no longer be tolerated.

Lawan expressed certainty that the new committee will achieve exactly the objective for which the president created it.

He made it clear that this will not in any way put an end to checks and balances in the government.
