Recruitment: 3005 applicants for police job screened in 7 days in Kaduna

No fewer than 3005 applicants in Kaduna have undergone physical screening for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force in the state. This was disclosed by police command in the state.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, the command’s public relations officer, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, August 31, in Kaduna.

According to NAN, a total of 17,000 applicants from the state are expected to undergo the physical screening exercise which ends on September 10.

He said that applicants from Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi, Chikun, Kajuru and Jaba local government areas have already been screened as at August 30.

This means that applicants from 17 LGAs are yet to undergo the screening.

The spokesman said candidates from Zango Kataf LGA would be screened on Monday while those from Kaura and Kauru LGAs will have their turns on Tuesday.

Also, those from Kachia and Kagarko LGAs will hold theirs on Wednesday and those from Giwa and Birnin Gawri will be screened on September 3 while Jema’a LGA will have its turn on September 4.

Others are Sanga and Sabon Gari LGAs – Sep. 5, Zaria LGA – Sept. 7, Makarfi and Kudan LGAs – Sept. 8, Kubau and Ikara – Sept. 9, and Soba and Lere LGAs – Sept. 10.

In a related development, the public relations officer of Lagos police command, Bala Elkana speaking on Saturday, August 22, announced the dates and locations where the physical and credential screening for applicants of Lagos state origin will hold.

Elkana also told the applicants that their screening will be determined by the local government areas where they come from.

He also admonished the applicants to report to the screening venue which is the police college Ikeja by 8 am on the date that they indicated for there various local government areas.

In other news, IG Adamu said that the statutory entry requirements into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) must be strictly adhered to in the ongoing police recruitment screening exercise.

He made the disclosure on Tuesday, August 25, in a statement by the spokesperson for the police force, Frank Mba in Abuja.

According to Mba, the clarification became necessary after reports in some sections of the media claimed that the IGP has suspended the entry requirement for candidates who applied to join the police as constables.
