Daniel Awe has been appointed as the new head of the Africa Fintech Foundry (AFF), the management and board of Access Bank PLC have announced.

The financial institution said Awe's appointment underscores its commitment to advance technological innovation in the African banking sector, This Day reports.

Legit.ng notes that before his appointment, Awe worked as a Payment Solution architect at the financial institution, leading the Channels Solution Delivery Group.

Herbert Wigwe, the group managing director of Access Bank Plc, said the leadership of the bank is excited about Awe's appointment.

In other news, a Nigerian man identified as Ifeanyi Obi has narrated how he upturned a negative prophecy spoken over him when he was eight years.

Obi took to his Instagram page to disclose that he recently gained his academic promotion as an associate professor of construction technology from the American University of Cyprus.

The young man said after the negative prophecy, he made a promise to himself to upturn it, adding that people should not let others decide their fate.

He wrote on his Instagram page: "A prophet boldly declared that I will never achieve anything academically rather I should look into doing business. I did look into business but I also choose to pursue one thing I always loved- Teaching and Learning irrespective of what a prophet said."

Obi, who said he did not allow the prophecy to take his dreams and aspirations away, disclosed that he has pioneered a software that is endorsed in the United Kingdom and Europe.
