Premier League side Chelsea have announced the signing of 21-year-old French midfielder Malang Sarr to bolster their squad ahead of the 2020/21 English topflight.

The Stamford Bridge landlords were able to secure the signature of Malang Sarr on a five-year deal following his departure at French side Nice.

But the Blues confirmed on their website that Malang Sarr will not have the chance to play for them in the coming season as he will be sent out on loan.

Chelsea want him to get more active playing time elsewhere before he can return to Stamford Bridge for regular action.

''The opportunity to sign Malang was one we could not miss.

''He is a tremendous prospect and we will be monitoring him closely during his loan period, hoping he will soon be back at Chelsea. We are very happy to welcome him to the club today,'' Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia explained.

Sarr started his career at Chelsea since he was five and only got the chance to break into the first team when he turned 17.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will be playing in the Champions League next season and Frank Lampard is preparing his team ahead of the term.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League side Chelsea are reportedly considering sending out strong defender Fikayo Tomori on loan this summer to topflight rivals Everton.

After their failure to finish among the top four teams at the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season, Everton coach Ancelotti is preparing to bolster his defence.

And according to the report on Telegraph, Everton chiefs have identified Fikayo Tomori as a good defender who will be a perfect addition to their team.

But the report added that the Stamford Bridge landlords will only be ready to do a loan business with Everton and not to completely sell Fikayo Tomori.

Last season in the Premier League, Fikayo Tomori played 20 games under Frank Lampard, but he lost his place towards the end of the season.

With Chelsea planning to sign Thiago Silva this summer on a free deal from Paris-Saint-Germain, Fikayo Tomori may be completely frozen out of the Blues' squad.
