The musician was born on 11 November 1992. As of 2020, she is 28 years old.


She was born into the family of Femi and Nana Otedola.

Her father is a respected Nigerian businessman. Apart from her, her parents gave birth to three more children. The other Otedola children are:

When the girl was 13 years old, she moved to London.

Cuppy launched herself into Nigeria’s entertainment scene in 2013.

In 2014, Cuppy was the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban as an intern. She then played at the Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball in London, and at the Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City.

The same year, she released her first compilation mix – House of Cuppy.

In April 2014, DJ Cuppy was appointed by Nigeria’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation (Edem Duke) as the tourism ambassador for the country’s "Fascinating Nigeria" campaign.

In March 2015, Cuppy was named the official DJ for the 2015 Oil Barons Charity in Dubai and became the first African act to have ever performed at the event.

In May 2015, she served as the official disc jockey during the inauguration dinner of Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari. She then launched House of Cuppy II.

In 2018, she was announced as an Official DJ Ambassador for Pepsi. On June 5, 2018, Cuppy was announced as a Global Citizen Education Ambassador.

The same year, on 28 November, she was named as the newest Ambassador for Save the Children UK. Her father donated NGN 5 billion (approximately $14 million) to the Save the Children Fund through his daughter, DJ Cuppy’s Foundation, to support various intervention programs for destitute children in Nigeria’s north-east region.
