Good news as Army begins recruitment

In what will be good news to Nigerians who are eager to serve their father's land, the Army has announced the commencement of recruitment exercise for short service combatant course and direct short service course.

This was announced in a statement on the Facebook page of the Army on Wednesday. August 19.

"This is to inform the general public that the web portal for SSC47/2021 and DSSC26/2021 is now online and the registration will commence immediately," the statement read.

According to the force, recruitment has started and those interested can apply. They consequently asked interested Nigerians to visit http://recruitment.army.mil.ng/ to apply.

Many Nigerians have however reacted positively to the news while some said they would not participate in the exercise.

Meanwhile, recall that Legit.ng reported that the Army announced the promotion of three outstanding soldiers to high positions for performing well in their duties in the security organisation.

In a press statement signed by its spokesperson, Sagir Musa, and released early on Saturday, March 21, the army said the officers were promoted because they "exceptionally distinguished themselves in the service of our beloved nation".

In the promotion approved by the Nigerian Army Council, Army Warrant Officer Nwabueze Agbo, Master Warrant Officer Tijjani Namadi were promoted to the rank of Captain and Master Warrant Officer Ibrahim Zakaria was raised to the rank of Army Warrant Officer.

Legit.ng also reported that the Arewa Crusaders Against Banditry (ACAB) has hailed the chief of army staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, and troops of the Nigerian army for the rapid success recorded through operation Sahel sanity in the northwest.

The group said the army has exceeded residents' expectations and returned normalcy to the once-troubled northwest region, particularly in Zamfara and Sokoto States.

Speaking on the launch of army's Operation Sahel Sanity which took place in July, the leader of the ACAB, Idris Gambo, said the exercise is already yielding results with hundreds of bandits killed and many others injured or captured.

Gambo said the north and Arewa community is proud of Buratai and troops' modest achievements within a short period.
