The traditional ruler of Ewatto Kingdom, in Esan South East local government area of Edo state, His Royal Highness, Sylvanus Ikhumhen, has reassured Governor Godwin Obaseki of the unalloyed support of the Esan people in the forthcoming election in the state.
The Onojie of Ewatto described the governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September poll, as the Messiah that Edo people have been waiting for.
According to him, Governor Obaseki’s reelection will ensure continuity of his sterling performance and consolidation on good governance in the state.
Receiving the governor, his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye and other members of the PDP entourage in his palace, the monarch commended Obaseki for extending his administration’s developmental projects to the community.

The Onojie said: “You don't need to come here and campaign because we have seen your good works across the state and we are impressed.
“Your government doesn’t discriminate; you appointed our sons into your cabinet and we are grateful to you.
“You are the messiah that Edo people have been waiting for. We never knew that our state government can extend development to my locality.”
Similarly, the traditional ruler of Ugboha, in Esan South-East local government area of Edo state, His Royal Highness Steven Ukato Odijie, recently assured Governor Obaseki of the unflinching support of the people of Esan land, citing the governor’s sterling performance across the state.
The monarch gave the assurance, on Monday, August 17, in his palace, when he received the governor with his campaign team.
“Come September 19, 2020, Edo people will express their appreciation for the governor’s achievements by re-electing him,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki, on Friday, August 14, urged his supporters in Edo state to go out en-masse and cast their votes for the PDP in the election.
The governor admonished his supporters to not only vote, but keep an eagle-eye on the process and the results as they unfold.
Obaseki made the call while addressing party faithfuls in Ward 6, Ukhuse in Owan West local government area during his re-election campaign rally.
