The Nigerian music industry is undoubtedly thriving, and it appears to be quite lucrative, too, considering the lavish lifestyles some celebrities can afford to live.

However, possessing musical talent is not enough to break into the Nigerian music industry, as people have struggled to have their music reach a large audience who loves it.

The music industry is also very competitive, in addition to being hard to break into. Celebrities often remain famous for a short time before they are kicked off the pedestal by a young and fresher artist.

Despite these hurdles, some Nigerian entertainers have lived by the mantra, ‘We rise by lifting orders’.

Popular Nigerian music star Olamide is one artiste who undeniably has great talent. The young man started as a struggling artist but rose through the ranks and became one of the country's top stars.

Olamide, also known as the YBNL boss, has singlehandedly brought many young talents into the spotlight. Some of those talented artistes have also grown to become big stars or fast-rising stars in the music industry.

Today, this list will look at some of the numerous music artistes that Olamide helped put on the map. He helped some of them by signing them to his label and pushing their works, and he helped those whom he did not sign to identify with his label, thereby getting gigs and promoting their music.

1. Lil Kesh:

This young man took the music industry by storm with his street dance style of music. Lil Kesh got signed on to Olamide's YBNL record label in 2014 and soon became a prominent name in the entertainment scene. Upon his exit from the label in 2016, the young singer revealed that Olamide helped him even beyond what was agreed on in their contract.

2. Adekunle Gold:

This young man started with his lover boy style of music and has now proven to be very versatile with how he evolved. AG Baby as he is fondly called, would not have a complete success story without the mention of Olamide. According to the music star, the YBNL boss took him to London for the first time in 2015 and he is grateful to him for his impact on his career.

3. Chinko Ekun:

This is another star who many might not know was helped in the industry by Olamide. He got signed on to YBNL records and enjoyed street credibility and massive airplay as a result.

4. Temmi Ovwasa:

This talented young woman was signed on to Olamide’s label. She got her first big break in the industry after joining YBNL. Temmie and Olamide eventually fell out, and it became apparent after she dragged him online.

5. Fireboy DML:

He has proven his talent and is making great waves in the music industry. After getting signed to YBNL, Fireboy has become one of Nigeria's biggest and most recognised artistes. He also recently bagged his first Grammy nomination alongside his YBNL colleague, Asake.

6. Picazzo Rhap:

He was discovered after his freestyle videos made the rounds on social media and he caught Olamide’s attention. The youngster used to be a street artiste but rose to fame after his association with the YBNL boss.

7. Lyta:

This young man used to identify as a YBNL artiste, and it gave him much-needed exposure.

8. Viktoh:

This is another music star who benefited from Olamide’s goodwill. He rose to fame and his songs enjoyed airplay after he got signed on to the YBNL record label.

He used to be one of the top music stars in the country, with one of the biggest fan bases known as Marlians. His career took center stage after his involvement with Olamide. In 2018, the YBNL boss featured on his song, Issa Goal, which ended up being a pivotal moment in his career.

10. Zlatan Ibile:

This energetic singer was never signed on to YBNL but Olamide no doubt helped push him into the limelight. In 2017, his song My Body had a verse from Olamide and it impacted his standing in the music scene.

11. Yomi Blaze:

This young rapper was also discovered on social media by Olamide and it bumped his career.

12. Pepenazi:

Pepenazi left fans with a hit song, ‘Another One For The Road’ due to his affiliation with Olamide. The music star created an anthem 'Illegal' with the YBNL boss' help. However, Pepenazi has now left music and focusing on his spiritual journey with God.

13. Portable:

The YBNL boss undoubtedly influenced this controversial Nigerian musician's fame. Portable became a household name after Olamide featured on his song, Zazu Zeh. He has been able to keep talking about him since his rise to fame. As a result of his popularity, Portable has been able to mingle with international stars such as Skepta and Wale. His music feauture with Skepta, Tony Montana, is also enjoying massive airplays.

14. Asake:

Another hot Nigerian musician at the moment whose career was influenced by Olamide is Asake, aka Mr Money. The talented artiste became a viral sensation after he joined YBNL. His success has continued to grow, and he recently bought himself a house. Asake also became a first time Grammy nominee under Olamide's YBNL record label.
