Donny van de Beek could become Barcelona's first summer signing if Ronald Koeman becomes new of manager and the Camp Nou.
Koeman is tipped to take over from sacked boss Quique Setien who was shown the door after Barcelona were sump out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich
And according to Le10 Sport, the Netherlands boss is already looking on how to inject fresh legs into the squad with Ajax's Van De Beek his number one target.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past few seasons but the French outlet claim that the player is not a priority for Los Blancos.
Van de Beek's arrival at the Camp Nou could potentially link him up with his former teammate Frenkie de Jong.
Barca have already signed Miralem Pjanic from Juventus, with Arthur Melo moving in the opposite direction and a move for Van de Beek would still be good for them.
La Blaugrana are keeping with the hope of lowering the average age of their squad in the midfield including the likes of Sergi Roberto (28), Sergio Busquets (320 and Arturo Vidal (33).
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Arsene Wenger has reportedly met with the Dutch FA in a bid to succeed Ronald Koeman as new Netherlands coach, reports claim.
The former Arsenal boss has not managed any team since he left Arsenal in 2018 after spending 22 years with the north London club.
The 70-year-old who was linked to become Barcelona's new boss currently works as the head of global football development at FIFA.
Legit.ng also reported that Ronald Koeman has been caught on camera at Barcelona airport amid speculation of Quique Setien's sack.
It is understood the Netherlands' current coach wants to leave the national team job to take up a more lucrative offer from his former team.
The Dutch legend was spotted leaving Barcelona airport on a private plane days after the club's Champions League humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich.
