Liverpool have been hit by the dreaded coronavirus after a member of the team is confirmed positive for the infection at their pre-season training ground in Austria.

The English champions are currently in Austria where they are having their pre-season preparation ahead of the forthcoming season.

Reports from the camp on Tuesday, August 18 acording to The Sun, have it that a member of the squad has been diagnosed of the coronavirus but the club is yet to confirm if the affected individual is a first team player or a backroom staff.

UK outlet Daily Mirror are reporting that normal training activities will continue at the club as the Reds are scheduled to face Arsenal for the prestigious Community Shield title slated for August 29.

Although the club earlier planned to head to the French city of Evian for their pre-season activities, the move was shelved after the UK Government added France to their coronavirus quarantine list.

The Wembley clash, to be played behind closed doors, is not yet in doubt but is vulnerable to a coronavirus outbreak in either squad.
