Ronald Koeman is already considering a massive first team clear out as soon as he is unveiled at Camp Nou with reports that Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba will be among his first six big casualties at Barcelona.

Reports from Spain have it that the potential manager is ready to ease off the club’s current wage bill and second and third captain Busquets and Alba will be told to go.

And this is coming in the wake of the sacking of manager Quique Setien no thanks to their 8-2 battery by German outfit Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Milano who works for, among others, Sky Sport, and specialises in football transfers has disclosed that Koeman, who is currently the manager of Holland national football team, will be appointed as new Barcelona manager.

“Ronald Koeman has been chosen as new Barcelona manager. He's going to leave Holland National team to join Barça - official statement on this week. Here we go,” he tweeted.

According to Spanish outlet El Periodico, Koeman is planning a clearout that could see six major first-team players depart the club.

Other players that could be axed include Luis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic who could find their heads on the chopping block.
