The All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ondo state have settled their differences ahead of the coming governorship election.
With this, members of the Unity Forum arm of the party have officially dissolved the body and blended into the campaign team of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
This forum was headed by a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi and had vowed to ensure Akeredolu does not return for a second term in office. But this failed as a result of the internal wrangling within the forum.
The Nation reports that the dissolution of the forum followed steps taken by Governor Akeredolu to ensure the party goes into the electoral battle united.
Alhaji Olanusi who was present at the meeting said he was on board the campaign train of Governor Akeredolu
This was the first time Olanusi would be in a solidarity meeting with Akeredolu in the past three years.
Meanwhile, the governor urged all leaders and members of the Ondo APC to work for the success of the party.
The governor also praised the party leaders, urging them to work as one indivisible party with one united purpose and sole mission to winning to elections to remain in government in the state.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that about 1,200 members of the Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) have declared support for the re-election of Governor Akeredolu over the expected defection of Agboola Ajayi.
Ajayi who is the Ondo state deputy governor has recently been cleared to contest the October 10 governorship election on the platform of ZLP after his failure at the Peoples Democratic (PDP) primary.
The Nation reports that members of ZLP led by executives from the wards and local government across the state said they have pulled out of the party structure.
The ZLP members were led by Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, a member of the House of Representatives representing Akoko North East/ North West Federal Constituency.
According to him, the governor has really worked well for all areas of the state and as a result of this deserves a second term in office.
