Obadiah Mailafiya, the former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has arrived the Department of State Services (DSS)'s office in Jos, Plateau state capital.

Mailafiya was invited for further interrogation on Monday, August 16, by the DSS after he was questioned by the security agency recently following his comment that indicted an unnamed northern governor who alleged has links with Boko Haram terrorists.

According to The Nation, the former CBN chief arrived the DSS office around 12 noon on Monday alongside his wife, Margaret Vou and lawyer, Yakubu Bawa.

Claiming ignorance over the reason for the fresh invitation, Mailafiya told journalists: “I was not told the reason for this invitation but I have to honour the invitation as a loyal and obedient citizen of this country. I believe in this country.”

After a recent interrogation by operatives of the DSS, Mailafiya has been issued another invitation for more questioning.

The former CBN deputy governor, according to his lawyer, Barrister Bawa Ba, is expected to be at the DSS office Jos, Plateau state capital on Monday, August 17.

Speaking on the development, Barrister Ba informed journalists that the invitation “was a buildup to the previous one, it is a process with security agents. It is normal for further discussion.”

The former CBN deputy governor had on Monday, August 10, during a programme on a radio station based in Lagos alleged that the commander of Boko Haram is a governor of one of the Northern states.

According to him, the group plans to instigate a civil war in the country in 2022.

Following the allegation, the DSS in Plateau state on Wednesday, August 13, grilled him for hours after which he was allowed to go home. Mailafiya, later explained the source of his information.

He said that he got his information from traders he met in a local market.
