Nigerian football star Samuel Kalu who currently plays for French side Bordeaux has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Turkish club Galatasaray.
Galatasaray failed to finish among the top four teams in the Turkish League and the club's chiefs are now preparing to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
The club also failed to extend the stay of Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru and they now see Samuel Kalu as a good replacement for the winger.
According to the report by Sabah newspaper, Galatasaray gaffer Fathi Terim is interested in the signing of Samuel Kalu and has told his bosses to go for the Nigerian.
Galatasaray officials are expected to meet their Bordeaux counterparts this week to sort the deal for the transfer of Samuel Kalu.
Kalu who has a contract with Bordeaux until 2023 scored one goal and provided two assists in 22 appearances for the club last season.
Samuel Kalu started his football career in Jos, Plateau state, where he played for AS Trencin in 2016 and featured in 32 games for the club scoring four goals before he left.
The Nigerian then moved to Gent before the start of the 2017 League season and played 48 games for the side netting 10 goals.
In the Super Eagles, Kalu has played 13 games for Nigeria and was part of Gernot Rohr's squad that campaigned at the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reportedly how Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu is on the verge of leaving French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux after being reportedly linked with move to the German Bundesliga this summer.
Since he joined Bordeaux where he has been playing for the past two years, Samuel Kalu has been struggling with form as the Nigeria has only been able to score four goals.
Samuel Kalu initially signed a five-year deal with the French giant, but according to the report on Complete Sports, they are ready to allow him leave this summer.
But the report added that Bordeaux will not allow Samuel Kalu to leave for nothing less than €10m which is their asking price.
