Inaki Williams announces that he is among the six Athletic Bilbao players that have returned positive results for the dreaded coronavirus after another round of tests were carried out at the club.
Marca are reporting that the results obtained after PCR tests submitted by footballers, coaches, assistants and staff that are in and around the first team showed that six stars of the club are carrying the virus.
Although the club are yet to release a statement to confirm the development, Inaki Williams has taken to social media to admit he was part of the six.
“Today they confirmed that I have tested positive in the PCR test. I am asymptomatic and I feel fine. It is time to be at home in isolation until I overcome the virus. I really want to join the pre-season,” Williams posted on his Twitter account.
It is believed that the affected individuals have been ordered into self-isolation as it will now affect their pre-season plans.
And this is coming barely 24 hours that Barcelona reported a positive result after nine senior team players who returned to the club were tested for the dreaded coronavirus.
The Catalan giants are due to face Bayern Munich in a mouthwatering Champions League quarter final clash on Friday, August 14.
Barcelona however say that the affected player is not a member of the squad that will fly out on Thursday ahead of their cracker against the German champions.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Valencia have also recorded cases of coronavirus in their team after random tests were conducted during their training session.
Two unnamed players tested positive to the deadly virus that has become a huge worry to humanity in the past months.
Another La Liga club Atletico Madrid recently discovered two of their players were also infested with the virus ahead of their remaining Champions League campaign.
Just like Atletico, Valencia have sent their players back home to self-isolate themselves in their respective homes.
