A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih, has boasted of the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki in the forthcoming election in Edo state.

Orbih who is the South-South zonal chairman of the PDP said Obaseki's alleged sterling performance is the reason why he is sure of his victory.

He commended the Edo state governor for allegedly significantly reducing the debt profile inherited from his predecessor.

Legit.ng gathers that the PDP spoke during Obaseki's re-election campaign in Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo state.

His words: “The September 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo State will be a poll for liberation and freedom of Edo people.

“I wish to commend Governor Obaseki for fighting against godfatherism. The fight is not one person’s, but a fight for all Edo people.”

He urged Edo people to vote en masse for the PDP to liberate the state from an unnamed godfather.

Meanwhile, Nigerian popular pastor, Prophet T.B. Joshua, has denied a viral report claiming he gave a prophecy regarding the forthcoming Edo governorship election.

The cleric who is the general overseer of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), said the report claiming he predicted the winner of the election was, ‘entirely false’.

The statement from SCOAN reads in part: “Our attention has been drawn to several articles circulating on the internet within Nigeria claiming that Prophet TB Joshua has given a prophecy regarding the upcoming governorship elections in Edo State, Nigeria. “This story is entirely false! Prophet TB Joshua has not given any prophecy regarding this."

The SCOAN said any official information regarding the cleric can only be found on Emmanuel TV.

"Emmanuel TV is the only official mouthpiece of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN). If you didn’t hear it on Emmanuel TV, please disregard it,” the statement concludes.
