Two lovebirds identified as Monifa and Wyatt got married in an unusual way as they hiked a mountain 12,000 ft above sea level to tie the knot.

The adventurous couple, who got married without any guests or an officiating minister, took the decision due to the COVID-19 pandemic the world is currently battling with.

Monifa with the Twitter handle @DrMonifaMD took to the microblogging site to make the disclosure, saying they hiked the mountain at 4am amid 30-degree weather in their wedding gear.

Since the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus, couples have devised creative ways of tying the knot and spending the rest of their lives together.

Monifa also shared a photo of what her wedding gown looked like after the event. She captioned it: "Theee dress at the end of theee day. Don't panic, it's currently undergoing a very involved professional deep cleaning and preservation process."

Monifa and Wyatt's union is the latest in the list of lovers that have refused to let COVID-19 deny them the opportunity of enjoying the beauty of marriage.

A Nigerian man identified as Anthony Esho and his wife are one of the couples that did not allow COVID-19 to disrupt their wedding plans.

Anthony married Simone Isaacs at the Washington D.C. War Memorial park in the United States.

The wedding was witnessed by just five guests, two from both families and the fifth person was the officiating minister. Another person present was the photographer.

Sharing photos from the wedding on his Instagram page, Anthony wrote: “Unfortunately we couldn’t have a 'traditional' wedding, but I thank God for the journey and wouldn’t have had it any other way."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a courageous young woman shocked social media after proposing marriage to the love of her life in public in a video that went viral.

In the video, the lady actually went on her knee as a man would normally do for a lady.

It was reported that the two have been long time lovers, but were yet to take their relationship to the next level by tying the knot.
