Lionel Messi is not relenting in helping in the fight of the deadly coronavirus in to his hometown of Rosario, Argentina.

According to ESPN FC, the 33-year-old has donated 50 ventilators to the people in Rosario to help in the treatment of patients who tested positive to the virus.

Though the Barcelona captain has not won a silverware for his country at senior level which has brought friction between himself and the fans back home.

But the Argentine attacker has put the sentiments aside to help the government reach out to patients who are battling for their lives.

Messi had earlier donated €500,000 to help the most disadvantaged people in his country combat the disease and more lives will be saved with the new ventilators.

The charismatic captain helped Barcelona defeat Napoli by 3-1 and 5-2 on aggregate to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Messi scored a brilliant solo effort and won a penalty that also put Luis Saurez's name on the scoresheet.

But he missed out in the UEFA Player of the Week Award to Robert Lewandowski who continued his brilliant run in the Champions League, scoring 13 goals.

Meanwhile, had earlier reported that Lionel Messi dribbled past five players in Barcelona's 3-1 victory over Napoli in the Champions League last 16 clash at the Camp Nou.
