Peter Crouch was wowed by Lionel Messi’s stunning striker on Saturday night, August 8 during Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Italian club Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.
Lionel Messi dribbled past five players in Barcelona's 3-1 victory over Napoli in the Champions League last 16 clash at the Camp Nou.
La Blaugrana made it through to the quarter finals with a 5-2 aggregate scoreline and will face one of the favourites Bayern Munich next.
Clement Lenglet put the Catalans ahead with a controversial header in the tenth minute before Messi and Luis Saurez struck the second and third.
The Barca captain got the ball from the right flank and managed to make his way in between two defenders as he showed and composure despite being surrounded by three other defenders.
His left footed strike stretched David Ospina in goal as Messi had the world at his feet with the breathtaking goal.
"He's just a genius," Crouch said to BT Sport and cited in the Dailymail.
"He's the only player in the world who can get up and have three unbelievable touches and curl it in."
The incredible strike from Messi also received glowing adulation from Twitter users far and wide.
Fans took to Twitter to idolize the Argentine superstar who has scored a couple of goals similar to that of his strike against Napoli.
One fan said: "That goal is the purest distillation ot Messi. Takes on the whole backline, incredible control, gets up with no fuss, checks to fake Ospina and finds the finish off balance. No words can do this man justice."

Although the Catalan giants struggled during the just concluded league season, that does not stop Messi who scored goals for fun and also going on to make record assist.
The 33-year-old netted 25 times in 33 Spanish league appearances this campaign - earning him his seventh Pichichi award. A record no one has attained in the history of the league.
