French professional football League side Rennes are reportedly interested in the signing of Chelsea star Fikayo Tomori and they are now in talks with the Blues's chiefs.
Fikayo Tomori failed to get regular playing time last season at Chelsea under Frank Lampard who preferred using Antonio Rudiger instead of the England international.
The 22-year-old actually returned to Chelsea before the start of 2019/20 Premier League season after his loan spell at Derby County, but found it difficult to fall into the first team.
Despite that, Fikayo Tomori still managed to get 15 starts for Chelsea at the just concluded Premier League season where the Blues finished among the top four.
Chelsea will be playing in the Champions League next season and Fikayo Tomori may not be included in Frank Lampard's plans for next term.
According to the report on UK Sun, Rennes chiefs want to explore the chance by luring Tomori to France even if the deal will be a loan move.
In July, Tomori was linked with a move to West Ham United as Chelsea are also interested in having Declan Rice, but United are not ready to sell the Englishman.
Rennes finished third on the French League table last season which means that Champions League football could tempt Tomori into making a move.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League side Chelsea are now reportedly turning their attention to the signing of Atletico Madrid star Jose Gimenez in a deal that will cost the Blues £60 million.
Chelsea were initially linked with West Ham United star Declan Rice, but the club have refused to do any business with the Stamford Bridge landlords.
The Blues have already landed striker Timo Werner and winger Hakim Ziyech, while play-maker Kai Havertz is edging closer to joining too.
Gimenez could add much needed quality to the team defensively with Frank Lampard having focused on attacking reinforcement so far.
