According to a British website devoted to Wonder’s life, early reports on the accident indicated that the truck involved in the crash was carrying logs and that one of the logs had dislodged and crashed through the windshield of the Mercury Cruiser, hitting Wonder right in the forehead.
The truck driver, 23-year-old Charlie Shepherd, claimed there were no logs on the back of his truck as he had already delivered them. All that could be confirmed was that either a log or the back of the truck smashed Wonder’s windscreen and the injuries left him in a coma.
Wonder managed to make it out alive but was put on rest for five months. The accident had fans in a panic and many will never forget this day in their lives.
