Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly jumped in the race to secure Thiago Alcantara's signature this summer.
The Spanish midfielder has been constantly linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool, but they will have to outbid PSG if they are serious about signing the player.
His current deal with Bayern Munich is scheduled to expire in 2021 and the German champions are not willing to extend his stay due to his incessant injuries.
The 29-year-old joined the Bavarians from Barcelona in a deal around €25 million and he was part of Pep Guardiola's main squad at the Allianz Arena.
Although there are other clubs interested in the player who earns £200k-per-week, the Reds appear more serious than the rest.
However, Liverpool Offside quoting local Bayern outlet Abendzeitung Muenchen claims the French champions are now looking to sign Thiago.
The publication claims they are not bothered by the £25M asking price unlike the reigning EPL champions, and neither are they worried about his age, wage, or injury record.
Reports claim the Merseyside outfit is expected to sign a few players this summer, but the economic impact of the deadly coronavirus might make it difficult for them to do so.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Thiago Alcantara who has just about a year left on his contract with German club Bayern Munich is confident of joining English Premier League club Liverpool.
It was gathered that the player has rejected a new contract offered to him by the German club and has even put his Munich house up for sale, hinting he is prepared to leave Germany for good.
The Premier League champions have been linked with the player with reports that Jürgen Klopp is keeping tabs on him.
He is also reportedly interested in joining Liverpool although it was gathered that there are no official discussion yet.
