Dan Orbih, chairman of the Edo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has insisted that all the things Adams Oshiomhole said about All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, remain true.
In the build-up to the 2016 Edo election, Oshiomhole, who is the immediate national chairman of the ruling party, had targeted Ize-Iyamu who was then the PDP candidate with sorts of disparaging sobriquets.
With new twist and turns highlighting the 2020 Edo guber election scheduled for September, the former APC chair made a U-turn, saying that all what he said about Ize-Iyamu was just a mere political gimmick.
But speaking at the flag-off of the party’s campaign in Edo North senatorial district on Monday, August 3, Orbih said all that Oshiomhole said about Ize-Iyamu and Obaseki in 2016 should be taken seriously in the election.
He warned people not to be deceived by Oshiomhole's beg for forgiveness and further added that enough to godfatherism in Edo state.
“All the things Oshiomhole said about Ize-Iyamu in the last four years are correct and all the things Oshiomhole also said about Obaseki in the same year are also correct.
"You can see that the man Oshiomhole condemned four years ago is the same man he is parading everywhere and kneeling to beg for. No man is God," Orbih said.
The PDP chieftain also implored people of Edo state to vote for Obaseki, saying for the first time the state government did not share treasury with godfathers.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Oshiomhole has come hard on Obaseki with the immediate national chairman of APC saying the Edo governor is not a threat to the ruling party's quest to win the state election.
Oshiomhole and Obaseki fell apart with the political feud between the former godson and his mentor forcing the latter to resign his membership of the ruling party.
With less than two months to the Edo guber election, Oshiomhole seems to have heightened the political rivalry with Obaseki PDP candidate.
