Coronavirus: List of states and their recorded Covid-19 deaths so far

- Nigeria's Covid-19 cases and deaths are now 43,841 and 888 respectively

With 888 deaths as of Sunday, August 2, Nigeria has one of the highest Covid-19 deaths in Africa as the virus spread across all the 36 states in the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as of Sunday, August 2, indicated that Nigeria now has 43,841 confirmed cases, 20,308 recoveries and 888 deaths.

However, just like the cases are not evenly spread, the deaths recorded in each of the states also vary.

While some states like Lagos has recorded higher deaths being the hotbed of the virus in Nigeria, Taraba state is yet to record a single fatality from the virus, the only state in the country with such record.

Meanwhile, as the Nigerian government keeps making efforts and taking safety measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country, Lagos has recorded a decline in the number of cases.

Thus, the state has closed down some COVID-19 isolation centres.

The Eti-Osa facility was shut and another one in Lekki. The Agidingbi isolation centre will also be shut and the patients relocated to a large capacity Centre in Anthony area, which will be soon commissioned.
