A big international magazine, GQ, has honoured Nigerian musician, Rema, alongside other top international artists like Doja Cat and Roddy Ricch.
He was named by the magazine as one of the "27 musicians to make 2020 better”. In describing him, his endorsement by Barack Obama who featured his Iron Man track on his playlist came to the fore.
The outfit said that since he broke into the limelight with his single star track Dumebi, he has been one of the strong voices to come out of the African continent.
In the latter part of his profiling, the magazine looked at not just his unique sound but his 'story of resilience, self-worth and hard work', saying that it is the reason why industry expectations of him are really high.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Rema was recently celebrated by Apple Music. The platform put up a billboard of the singer in Los Angeles. This was done to celebrate Black Music Month.
This greatly overjoyed the young singer and he took to his Twitter account to celebrate the great feat. Rema shared a short video of his photo on the billboard.
The singer also said that seeing his face up there was a dream come true as he thanked Apple Music.
He wrote: “Seeing my face on a Billboard in Los Angeles is a dream come true, thank you @AppleMusic for this gift ❤.”
