Social media has helped to bring a lot of things to light and it has shown that a lot of people live in ignorance about their true parents.
The issue of paternity fraud is a serious one as it has seen many men break down and not recover after discovering that the children they raised as their do not actually belong to them. Most times, these discoveries are made by accident.
Just recently, Nigerian author and social commentator, Reno Omokri, took to social media via his Twitter page to share his take on paternity fraud and how it should be handled if one falls victim.
According to him, if a man discovers that he is not actually the father of ‘his child’, he should punish the mother and not the child.
Explaining further, Reno said that if DNA is even taken to the extreme, a lot of people will discover that they are not actually the children of ‘their fathers’.
He wrote: “Dear men,
If you perform DNA test on your ‘child’ and he/she ends up not being your actual child, punish the mother, not the child. If we take this DNA thing to the extreme, you may even be surprised that even YOU are not your father’s child too!”

A Chinese man has inconsolably broken down after discovering that his twin babies have two fathers, meaning one of them is not his.
Daily Mail reports that the discovery was made known after the babies’ unnamed parents did a DNA test as part of the process to register their births in China.
