- Alexis Sanchez’s performances in recent months has earned him favour with Inter who want to sign him permanently
- The Chilean’s wages are currently being split-paid by both United and Inter Milan
- Sanchez helped the club secure a place in the Serie A top three for the first time since 2011
Italian giants Inter Milan have expressed interest in wanting to make Alexis Sanchez's deal at the club permanent.
The Nerazurri have had an impressive season under Antonio Conte, who made some ambitious signings in the summer including some high profile loan deals.
Sanchez, 31, joined Inter in the summer of 2019 and despite making a fairly slow start, he has been rather impressive in recent months for the club.
Courtesy of the new management and signings, the Milan club are certain to finish in the Serie A top three position for the first time since 2011.
According to BBC, the club has been so impressed by Sanchez’s performances they are actually thinking of making him a full-time Nerazzuri.
There are however several obstacles in the possible deal, including Sanchez’s sky-high wages.
During his loan spell with Inter, United were footing a large chunk of his £400,000 a week which is obviously too high for Inter to muster if the deal is made permanent.
This implies that if the former Arsenal man is to make the switch to Italy permanent, he might have to make peace with a possible hefty pay cut since his contract at United runs until 2022.
With his loan deal coming to an end, there is a bit of uncertainly over his future, although it is understood he is set to feature for Inter in the Europa League against Getafe on August 5 in the last 16 tie.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City are reportedly planning to make a surprise move for Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez this summer.
The Chilean joined the Red Devils in January 2018, but failed to replicate his form for other clubs at Old Trafford.
When he failed to perform after over a year or more, the club decided to ship him out on loan to Italian League giants Inter Milan in the summer of 2019 with an option to buy.
