A Twitter user identified as Uju Anya has taken to the platform to share her experience as an atheist who is raising her children in the same belief.

Anya who is part Nigerian, part Trinidadian and part American, started out by stating that her children often get abused by teachers and their classmates for their belief.

The lady who stated she was brought up in a Christian home, revealed her late mother's biggest disappointment was her (Anya) rejection of God's existence.

Anya who admitted she has friends with different religious beliefs which she respects, revealed that she often discusses her belief with her friends.

However, Anya said she doesn't do the same with her 'devoutly religious family members' as she often gets heavy criticisms from them.

"These relatives' problem is I don't lie/hide not believing in God and raising non-believers. They accuse me of disgracing them and our family by saying I don't go to church when outsiders ask. Though I don't contest their faith, my open existence as an atheist is a crisis," she wrote.

Anya also recounted how they compared her to another relative of hers who is a felon and said he was better than her as he accepts Jesus. She further revealed that they keep their kids away from her, telling them that no good will come from a 'heathen life'.

Expansiating more on how her kids suffer due to their beliefs, she wrote: "Another challenge are my kid's teachers/classmates. I tweeted how they abused my son in preK and 2nd grade. My daughter in K and 1st constantly talked about hell and how kids said we were going there. This always happens when my kids tell other kids we don't go to church.

I don't teach my kids to deprecate religious faith or insult believers, because I don't do that. I also don't teach them to lie. So, just saying we don't believe is already an affront or insult for some, because they see our rejecting God as questioning their belief in God."

She added that many people who confront her and the kids with criticisms claim they do it for love and fear for their salvation. However, their emotional manipulation doesn't show any love.

Only a while ago, a Nigerian man identified as Olayinka Odukoya Ajibola took to social media to call out his ex-wife and his former church members.

The man also vowed to become an atheist and never marry again. The man shared a series of posts on his Facebook page to complain and call out everyone. He revealed that he got compelling facts that his ex-wife sold off his properties to his church members.
