Franklin Ogunyemi who is Nigeria's deputy ambassador to Italy has stated that the country's President Muhammadu Buhari is so happy with Victor Osimhen's imminent move to Napoli.
Victor Osimhen is on the verge of registering his name in the history books as the highest paid Nigerian footballer ever anytime Napoli announce his transfer move.
Nigerian football lovers have been waiting to hear the good news about the transfer of Victor Osimhen to Napoli which is expected to happen this week.
Speaking with Radio Kiss Kiss, Ogunyemi explained that the news of Osimhen joining Napoli is making all the people at the Nigerian embassy in Italy happy.
“We know that the Head of State of our country, Muhammadu Buhari, is also happy with this transfer. Osimhen is a young player, but already very strong.
“He is strong, fast, and tactical. He has a characteristic of the Nigerian population: he never gives up. For these reasons, I compare him to Ronaldo,'' Ogunyemi explained.
Napoli are currently occupying seventh position on the Italian Serie A standings and they have no chance of playing in the Champions League next term.
Handler of the club Gattuso is now planning hard for next season so that his team can fight for all available titles.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Amaju Pinnick who is the president of the Nigerian Football Federation stated emphatically that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will break Maradona's record at Napoli.
The Nigerian football chief claimed that the player has told him that he is happy going to Napoli and confirmed his readiness to do well in the Italian Serie A.
However, Napoli or Lille have not announced the transfer of Victor Osimhen who scored 18 goals for Lille last season in France.
Maradona joined Napoli from Barcelona in 1984 and in his time there he elevated the team to the most successful era in its history.
The Argentine football legend scored 81 goals in 188 League appearances for Napoli before he left the side.
