- Secondus has rated the presidency poor
- According to the PDP national chairman, there is nothing to show there is a government in charge
- According to him, Nigerians are bow helpless
The current administration in the country has failed Nigerians, Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has hinted.
According to Secondus, the country is in “a free fall”, as corruption and insecurity have been left unchecked.
He disclosed this t a press conference in Abuja on Friday, July 25.
According to him, Nigerians have become helpless and accepted to live like “citizens of nations without leader and with no direction,” the Cable reports.
“As an opposition party, the PDP has screamed endlessly to high heavens but it’s becoming very clear to all that the ears we are targeting are deaf as nothing on ground shows that there is a government in this country,” he added.
Going further, he said by asking the service chiefs to resign, the upper legislative chamber of the national assembly proved that the executive has lost control.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the APC reacted to the return of the former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara to its fold.
The ruling party's national publicity secretary, Yekini Nabena, said that Dogara's defection is a source of joy to the APC.
In a statement signed by Nabena, the APC categorically said: “We are particularly gladdened by the return of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara to the APC."
The party, however, noted that it is not oblivious of the fact that it will meet obstacles in its bid to achieve for fellow citizens the Nigeria of their dreams under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The APC added: "...we are already delivering on key electoral promises of securing the nation, fighting corruption and improving the economy and livelihoods.”
In response to the call by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Buhari's resignation, the party said that the nation deserves a better opposition than what it actually has at the moment.
The APC in its statement said: “It is well within the rights of PDP members to abandon a rudderless and sinking ship for the progressive fold. Going by the popular axiom: Why fly like a hen when you can soar like an Eagle?"
The party called on the PDP to watch and see how the president will clean up the mess they caused in the country.
