- Mesut Özil has not played any game for Arsenal since the resumption of football
- Fenerbahce are now interested in signing Mesut Özil on loan this summer
- The Turkish side won't be able to pay his massive weekly wages
Turkish giants Fenerbahce have reportedly indicated their interest to sign Arsenal star Mesut Özil on loan this summer, but they will have problems with paying his huge weekly wages.
The former Real Madrid star is currently on £350,00-a-week at the Emirates stadium, but Fenerbahce would only be able to pay the German £52,000-a-week.
Such offer will come as an insult to Özil and the German football star will prefer staying at Arsenal till the end of his contract.
But Özil has fallen out of favor this term at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and has not played any games for the Gunners since football resumed in Europe last month.
According to Marca, the Turkish side want to try and seal a loan move for the 31-year-old, but can only afford to contribute a fraction of his wages.
They are prepared to pay £2.7m of Özil's salary a year, but he pockets around £18m annually.
He has one more year left on his current deal at Arsenal and the German is expected to appear for the Gunners next season in all competitions.
However, Özil's wife who is ex-Miss Turkey wants the star footballer to move to her country regardless the amount he would be paid weekly.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will still be missing out next season's Champions League after finding it hard to be among the top four this term in the Premier League.
