- Charlie McNeill could be on his way to join Manchester United this summer
- The Red Devils want the English striker to continue his career at Old Trafford
- McNeill has been impressive in the youth teams scoring 600 goals
Manchester City youngster Charlie McNeill who has scored 600 goals has reportedly emerged as summer transfer target for rivals Manchester United who want him at Old Trafford.
Charlie McNeill has rejected a contract at Manchester City and the young striker is now on the verge of leaving the Etihad stadium.
By September this year, Charlie will turn 17 and Manchester City or Manchester United must agree a deal with him for them not to risk the financials being ruled on at tribunal.
They remain locked in talks and it is understood McNeill will cost a seven-figure sum, given his goal-scoring exploits in the academy teams and international experience.
The Etihad landlords would hope to include a number of additional performance-related clauses but are currently at a stalemate with the Red Devils.
Six years ago, McNeill was in the youth team at Manchester United before making the switch to Etihad and now, the Red Devils want him to return.
According to the report on Daily Mail, Charlie has found entering Manchester City Under 18 side difficult to enter and the Englishman wants to try his luck elsewhere.
The player himself announced last month that he wants to leave Manchester City thanking the club for the chance they gave him in the last six years.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of losing goalkeeper Sergio Romero who is said to be frustrated for Ole Solskjaer's refusal to drop David De Gea.
David De Gea who is Manchester United number one goalkeeper is currently not finding it rosy at Old Trafford and there have been many calls for Solskjaer to drop the Spaniard.
Many Manchester United fans are still livid with David De Gea over his errors which made the Red Devils lose against Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal.
Even the club's legend Phil Neville blamed David De Gea for all the three goals United conceded against the Blues who will be facing Arsenal in the final.
