The Nigerian Football Federation together with the coach of Super Eagles Gernot Rohr are now preparing to invite Arsenal star Bukayo Saka to their national team.
Bukayo Saka has been impressive for Arsenal this season in all competitions and recently signed a new deal with the North London side.
Saka has already played for England at the youth level and has not made any decision on the country to represent at the senior level.
The 18-year-old was born in England by Nigerian parents and has the right to play for Three Lions or the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
According to the report on Daily Mail, Nigeria are accelerating their plans so as to make sure that Bukayo Saka does not end up playing for England.
They recently lost out in their chase to have Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori who snubbed Nigeria for England.
But the Nigerian Football Federation were successful in the past by convincing the likes of Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and Victor Moses to play for the Super Eagles.
Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses both played for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their campaign at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently occupying 10th position on the Premier League table with a game to end the season and zero hope of qualifying for Champions League.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick insisted that the body will not beg Arsenal teenage sensation Bukayo Saka to play for the Super Eagles.
The 18-year-old versatile player who can play as a full back and a winger has been one of the discoveries of the 2019-20 season.
He broke into the Gunners senior team late in 2018 and the youngster has gone ahead to score four goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances across competitions.
The utility player is fast becoming one of Mikel Arteta's choice players this campaign having featured in 26 Premier League matches so far.
