A former Nigerian youth pastor identified as Dan Yomi has come out on social media to share a part of his coming out story and how he fully embraced his homosexual nature.

The young man who is now based abroad said that back when he was still occupying the youth pastor position in Nigeria, he always prayed to God to take away his homosexual nature.

Yomi accompanied his post with a screenshot he shared on Facebook back in 2011. In the post, the young man had prayed to God to deliver him from temptation.

According to him, those were dark times in his life and he is glad to be in a much better place now.

"I was a youth pastor in Nigeria and a 20-year-old praying for God to deliver me from the spirit of homosexuality. Those were dark times in my life and I’m glad to be in a much better place now," his post read in part.

Addressing those who may have or are in the same situation, Yomi noted that they cannot pray their homosexuality away. He urged them to embrace acceptance and love themselves.

He said: "So no, you can’t pray the ‘gay’ away & the earlier you accept & love urself, the better!"

This is not the first time the young man will come out to publicly address the issue of his sexuality. Some months ago, Legit.ng reported that Yomi attracted mixed reactions on social media after he came out to celebrate his lover on Valentine’s Day.

Yomi posted pictures of him and his lover as he penned a note about their experiences living as gay people. He said their relationship has come a long way since they made the decision to come out of the closet.
