Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is close to sealing a €60 million move to Italian League giants Napoli this summer.
The Super Eagles attacker has been heavily linked with a move to join Gennaro Gattuso's side on a five-year deal from Ligue 1 side Lille.
Osimhen attracted interests from top European clubs with Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur also trying their luck for the forward.
But the former Wolfsburg turned down their offer, saying he could not play second fiddle to Harry Kane who is Spurs' choice striker.
It would be recalled that the former youth international made an impressive mark in France in his debut season, scoring 18 goals and six assists across competitions.
He is however on the verge of dumping his deal with Lille for a better and more competitive league in Italy after just one year in France.
"Victor Osimhen will join Napoli, confirmed. The agreement is ready to be completed for €60M with Lille," tweeted Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"Osimhen will sign his contract until June 2025. Last details to be completed and then done deal. Talks ongoing also to sign Jeremie Boga from Sassuolo."
The Nigerian star won the best player of the season for Les Douges and went ahead to clinch the 2020 edition of the Prix Marc-Vivien Foe award with 284 points.
He beats Algeria's Islam Slimani, Idrissa Gueye, Moses Simon among others to the prestigious prize at the end of this season.
Osimhen rose to prominence after helping the Nigeria U17 national team win a record five FIFA World Cup championship in 2015. He scored 10 goals in all matches to set a new record.
