Thiago Alcantara who has just about a year left on his contract with German club Bayern Munich is confident of joining English Premier League club Liverpool.
It was gathered that the player has rejected a new contract offered to him by the German club and has even put his Munich house up for sale, hinting he is prepared to leave Germany for good.
The Premier League champions have been linked with the player with reports that Jurgen Klopp is keeping tabs on him.
The Spaniard is also reportedly interested in joining Liverpool although it was gathered that there are no official discussion yet.
According to B/R's "Football Ranks" podcast, Thiago is expected to leave, and is 'very sure' he will join Liverpool. But whether he gets his dream move to Anfield remains to be seen, despite the Reds being his first choice.
Bayern Munich are playing hardball, and want around £35million for Thiago, but the Reds are only willing to pay £18m to get the transfer over the line.
Liverpool do hold some power in that Bayern will at the very least want to get a transfer fee for the Spaniard, rather than see him leave for free in 2021.
And only recently, Liverpool announced that their midfielder Curtis Jones has signed a new five-year contract at Anfield thereby ending speculation over his future.
Liverpool chiefs decided to reward the 19-year-old star with a new deal considering his superb performances for the Reds so far since he teamed up with the side.
Curtis Jones who has played eight games for Liverpool this season is among the youngsters the Reds' manager is planning for them to take the side to the next level.
