- Alphonse Areola could be edging closer to sealing Chelsea move this summer
- The Frenchman was said to have moved into his new home in London this week
- The PSG star bought the property about nine months ago, but recently furnished it and moved in
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola appears to have stirred up reactions among football fans after buying a house in London amid Chelsea transfer link.
The Blues are not satisfied with the services of their current shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga and are already looking for a replacement for the Spaniard.
He has made 40 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit across competitions this campaign - conceding 53 goals and kept just 10 clean sheets in the process.
Frank Lampard is, however, growing impatient with Kepa's many errors and has named a few targets including Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and Dean Henderson, Manchester United star currently on loan at Sheffield United.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old PSG star who has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer has hinted he is edging closer to sealing a deal.
The wife of the goalkeeper shared an adorable picture of the family on social media posing outside their new London home.
Marrion Areola wrote: “A few years ago our dream was to have our home in London. “Our dream came true. Happiness, blessed.”
SunSport reports that the Frenchman bought the property about a year ago, but decided to move in this week after a rehabilitating and furnishing it.
Chelsea are hoping to offload the most expensive goalkeeper in the world this summer, with Areola leading the race to become the club's new number one.
The goaltender spent the 2019-20 season at Real Madrid, but the newly crowned La Liga champions might not be interested in making his deal permanent.
He made just eight appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions during his temporary stay in the process.
Areola’s agent Mino Raiola, according to The Sun, is targeting a move to the English capital and could seal a deal around £20 million with Chelsea, although a loan offer could also be viable.
The 27-year-old is hoping to use the move to revive his playing career before Euro 2021 kicks off next year.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Jan Oblak has been linked with a sensational move to Chelsea, but the Premier League club will have to pay £110 million to price away the Atletico Madrid star.
However, the Slovenian goalkeeper has not indicated his intentions to leave the Wanda Metropolitano outfit in the summer, but the Blues are lurking around the corner.
Chelsea have done business with Atletico in recent years including the transfers of Diego Costa, Alvaro Morata and Thibaut Courtois.
